First Godwit of July Catch in Iceland seen in Scotland!

On the 1st August John Bowler found 'Red Black Yellow White X' at Loch a' Phuill, Isle of Tiree, Argyll, Scotland in a flock of 118 adult Black-tailed Godwits. This bird is the first of the 29 that were caught and colour ringed at Siglufjördur using cannon nets in July (see our Archive). Most godwits are already on their wintering grounds in western Europe or are on their way. Please keep an eye out for colour ringed birds and lets us know if you find any.
