69 pupils took part in this year’s football league, which was run by Mr. Farrell. The games were held after school and we would like to thank Coláiste Muire for the use of the field. This year’s captains were Keith O’Flynn, William Ireland, Dylan Sheridan, James Stoat & Tom Philips. The final was between Tom’s and Dylan’s teams with the title going to Tom’s team! Well done to all who took part. A special word of thanks again this year to Br. Atanasius for all the help he gave during the league and indeed for Sciath na Scol training and the school soccer team as well.

Tennis News
Four pupils from the school have reached the final of the Munster Schools’ Tennis competition. They are, Ben Rasmussen, Gary Stack (capt.), David Gardiner & Kyle Hurley. This is a great achievement for the school, as schools from all over Munster compete for this title. Well done to the lads and best of luck in the final tomorrow, 6th June.

School Soccer Team
The school took part in the FAI East Cork Primary School Tournament held in Midleton on the 28th May. The competition was run on a group basis and we won our group beating Upper Glanmire and Riverstown while drawing with Midleton. In the quarter-final we beat Castlemartyr with a ‘golden goal’ scored by Keith O’Flynn. Keith did the same in the semi-final with a hard fought 1-0 win over Midleton. The final saw us play Riverstown. We had beaten this team 2-0 in the group stages but we were beaten in the final despite the best efforts of Cathal O’Hanlon, Graham O’Connor and James Stoat. The full panel for this 6 a side tournament was: James Stoat, Dylan Fitzgerald, Luke Wallace, Patrick O’Flynn, Cathal O’Hanlon, Seán Moynihan, Graham O’Connor, Keith O’Flynn, Dean Keating & Dylan Russell. They were coached by Mr. Kenneally. All the players received a medal for finishing second in the tournament. Well done boys.
