Comórtais na Nollag
O
ur annual Christmas competitions were held over the last few weeks of the first term and a great amount of entries were handed in! Here are the results! My Christmas Wishes
Christmas wishes, I have many,
Some for my brothers, grandad and granny,
Home to be filled with Christmas cheer
Now that special time is here.
My family will gather as we always do,
Sharing laughter, love and special gifts too.
We will sit to eat our Christmas feast,
Giving thanks to Jesus
Who was born in the East.

What I Wish for the World this Christmas
If the water left the houses
And flowed down to the sea,
What a happy place Ireland would be!
If the homeless man
Looking for food in a bin,
Came across a scratch card
And had a big win
All of the people would give a big cheer,
And have a Merry Christmas
And a Happy New Year!

What I Wish for the World this Christmas
I wish that everyone got presents and gifts and that people try their best to make sad people happy. I also hope the people don’t forget the true meaning of Christmas. Remember it’s not all about getting gifts—it’s about celebrating Jesus and what he has done for us. That’s the true meaning of Christmas. So be Happy!

Christmas Time
As I came down the stairs
There were presents in pairs.
When I opened my new toy
My heart filled with joy,
I found I got a DS
And my Mam got a dress.
She was so delighted with the present
She said she’d love it forever!
I got my Grandad a new golfing hat,
He gave me a baseball bat.
We all had a great time
And no way was I in bed by nine!
I might have a bigger list next year
If the recession isn’t here!

The Night before Christmas
The night before Christmas I went to bed,
Thoughts of Santa Claus were in my head.
I closed my eyes and tried to sleep
But I couldn’t help it, I had to peep!
I was afraid that I’d get caught
And a bag of coal would be my lot!
But I wished so hard, I wished I might
See Santa Claus that very night.
You can imagine my surprise
When I opened my eyes, Santa said ‘Ho! Ho! Ho!’
Now back to bed you must go.
Next thing I hear a shout of glee,
My sister found presents under the tree!
I opened my eyes and lay in my bed
It was all a dream, all in my head!
